Jax is a sweet boy whose smile lights up the room. Like most children his age, he loves Paw Patrol, Cocomelon, and Sesame Street. However, Jax is different because he has been diagnosed with autism, a sensory disorder, and a speech delay. For him, every day is a struggle to find ways to communicate with his family in a way they can understand. Jax experienced a breakthrough when he spoke his first word at the age of five; his first word was "mama."

Jax urgently needs a warm coat as the weather gets colder, but he doesn’t have the proper clothing to protect him from the biting chill. His mom is facing major financial difficulties, including an impending eviction and the recent repossession of their car. A coat is essential for Jax, and his mom simply can’t afford to buy anything for her beloved son during this challenging time.
