Jade Navarro, a non-minor dependent (NMD), lives in a SILP-approved home in Torrance, CA, and has been a client of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) for 10 years. She graduated high school and initially attended El Camino Community College but had to take a leave of absence due to housing difficulties. Currently, Jade is pursuing a nail technician course and plans to work in that field once certified. She hopes to continue her education at El Camino College in the future.

Jade is excitedly taking a nail class, where she’s learning everything she can about becoming a skilled manicurist or nail technician. She loves the idea of expressing her creativity through nails, and she's eager to turn that passion into a career. To help her stay focused and calm while she practices and works on clients, she’s planning to use her AirPods. She believes that listening to her favorite playlists or some relaxing tunes will not only help her concentrate better but also create a soothing vibe as she perfects each manicure.
