A shopping spree for Sally to purchase jeans that fit properly
Sally, 17 years old

Multicultural Community Services, Inc.Sally was recently placed in foster care after an extensive history with child protective services from a younger age. Sally is the only one of six siblings who was removed from her parent's care and is extremely shy and guarded but with an infectious laugh and bright smile that lights up a room after she's been able to slowly warm up and begin to trust others. Sally is trying to reconcile her schedule to accommodate all requirements to graduate on time while adjusting to a new placement, town, and school.
Sally has made significant progress in her eating habits since entering placement, recently gaining about 20 pounds in a healthy way. However, this change has left her with jeans that no longer fit comfortably. Sally shared that she has never bought her own clothes; instead, she typically received hand-me-downs from her older siblings. Recently, she expressed a desire to learn how to visit a store, try on jeans, and select those that align with her personal style and practicality. This ability to articulate her need for new clothes marks a significant step in her journey toward self-advocacy in a relatively short time. It would be wonderful to help Sally find a few pairs of jeans that will brighten her day and boost her confidence as she transitions to her new school!
