Focus on Youth, Inc.Kris was removed from his biological parents at the age of five and again at eleven years old. He is in the permanent custody of the state. He has severe ASD, and ambulatory, with 50 percent hearing loss in both ears. The loss of hearing and ASD diagnosis has been a barrier to his placement options due to his lack of communication skills. Kris is a delightfully sweet and humorous young man. He is currently non verbal but communicates in other ways such as sign language and physical movements. Kris has the kindest bright blue eyes and is interactive when he warms up to people. Once he is comfortable, he will engage in harmless ornery behavior causing him to laugh. He has such a pure heart and is a delight to everyone he meets!
Kris is a wonderful young man living in a residential facility. Although he is non-verbal, his personality shines brightly every single day. The staff at his facility absolutely adore him and frequently comment on his sweet demeanor. Kris has always loved coffee, and now that he is 18, he is allowed to enjoy one cup each day. He would really appreciate having his own coffee machine to keep with him. His case manager has agreed to store it in her office since having it on the unit isn’t allowed due to safety concerns. The staff is excited for Kris to enjoy his daily cup of coffee.
