He entered foster care at the age of ten and moved through many different placements and group homes before aging out at eighteen. He has never had family support and has had to navigate life on his own since leaving the system. He has experienced homelessness and struggled to meet his basic needs, yet he continues to show resilience and determination. Throughout his journey, he has faced numerous challenges; however, he maintains a positive attitude and remains committed to achieving his goals.
Lewis struggled with his deposits when he moved into his new apartment. His costs were higher than expected, and although he could pay his rent, he initially struggled to keep up with his electric, water, and garbage bills, which come together in one bill. He has asked for extensions to pay, but the extra fees make it hard to catch up. His electricity is set to be turned off on March 12th, adding to his stress. If he could just get caught up, he would be able to cover the monthly bill going forward.
