As a result, Jeremiah and his sibling were removed from her care, and their uncle became their legal guardian. However, the uncle eventually relinquished his guardianship because he and Jeremiah were unable to get along, leading to Jeremiah being kicked out of the home. Jeremiah is in extended foster care and is placed with a relative. He is a member of the wrestling team and is on track to graduate.
Jeremiah is a 12th grader on track for graduation. He is an outstanding athlete and has even competed in the CIF for wrestling. However, unlike his teammates, Jeremiah does not have a letterman jacket. His foster parents cannot afford to buy one for him, which makes him feel left out and singled out because he is a foster child. Jeremiah's one wish is to have his very own letterman jacket.
