She is presently living with a foster family, though this has not always been the case. Maya has been through past placements, including time in a group home, before finding her current foster home. Despite these challenges, Maya continues to try to make the best of her situation.
Maya has finally been placed in a foster home after spending a considerable amount of time in a group home. The family has a four-wheeler, and Maya would love to learn how to ride it, but she needs a helmet. Granting this wish for her birthday would still mean the world to her.
