Deja'nae is a resilient young woman who spent four years in the foster care system, moving through six different placements during that time. She considers herself goal-oriented and is always working hard to make progress in her life. Before entering the system, she took care of her siblings and faced abuse within her family. Her experiences in foster care shifted her perspective on what her life could become. Deja'nae has been given opportunities to improve her future, such as attending a reputable college and receiving support throughout the process.

Deja'nae is in her senior year of high school and is currently on the track team. She loves to run but has been battling injuries recently. She hopes to pursue track and compete in college and wants to ensure she is as healthy as possible during her final high school season.
