He’s been shuffled from home to home, never finding stability, never truly belonging. The system has failed him, leaving him institutionalized and struggling to trust that anyone will stay. Like so many kids in his situation, he has tried to take control the only way he knew how—by running. But instead of finding safety, he ended up in a locked facility for his own protection.
In a world where so much has been out of his control, Justin finds comfort in the little things—like the rare chance to enjoy a favorite snack. A Moon Pie, a bag of Doritos—things most people don’t think twice about, but to Justin, they mean everything. A commissary fund for snacks would give him small moments of happiness, a reminder that even in tough times, there are still things to look forward to.
