Shane is an inspiring educator and a proud member of the Aaniiih and Nakoda Nations. Having experienced life as a foster youth, she’s devoted herself to education, healing, and advocating for others. This year is a special one for Shane and her brother: Shane is set to graduate with her Master’s degree, while her brother will complete his Bachelor’s degree. After facing their past traumas and working hard to rebuild their relationship, this milestone is about so much more than just their academic accomplishments—it’s a celebration of their growth, their unity, and their cultural pride. Shane is looking for support to fund a professional photo session at the end of April. These photos will be a beautiful representation of their healing journey and the strength of their heritage. They plan to wear traditional clothing for the portraits, hoping to create something meaningful that can be cherished and passed down through generations. This moment will stand as a testament to what love, perseverance, and cultural pride can help achieve.
