Mary is a young mother who came to this country and entered foster care at the age of 16. Her son still lives in her native country, and she misses him dearly. They regularly FaceTime, allowing her to stay connected with him. Currently, she is part of the extended foster care program and is actively learning the English language. Mary remains hopeful that she will reunite with her son one day, and she aspires to become a surgeon in the future.

Mary has been feeling quite heartbroken lately because she didn’t get a chance to send her son anything for Easter, and it’s weighing heavily on her. She just wants to feel like she is still contributing to his life and showing him love, even if she can’t be there right now. Having the opportunity to pick out something special for him—a toy, a cozy blanket, and a few clothes—would really lift her spirits. It would mean a lot to her to know that she was able to provide for him in her own way.
