Jose's favorite color is red. He has a deep love for animals and once had a bird as a pet. In addition to this, Jose is incredibly creative and enjoys painting and drawing. He is also an Unaccompanied Refugee Minor (URM). He came to the United States when he was 11 years old and spent several months in a detention facility before being moved to a foster group home in California. Originally from Guatemala, Jose is painfully shy but has managed to learn some English. Recently, Jose's legal status changed, requiring him to move to Texas. He is very sad to have left everything behind once again.

Jose is thriving in his foster home. He works diligently in school to earn good grades and has developed a passion for sports and staying active. For his birthday, he is requesting a pair of stylish and comfortable shoes suitable for hiking. Jose enjoys being active, and new shoes would help him stay comfortable during his activities.
