Imani was placed in foster care along with her three younger siblings. However, due to her age, she was separated from them and placed in a group home. Although Imani dislikes being away from her siblings, she remains focused on accomplishing her educational goals and aspires to become a teacher one day.

Imani worked extremely hard to graduate. She entered foster care in the middle of her junior year and had to start at a new school. While balancing her studies, Imani worked part-time and saved enough money to buy her prom dress and shoes. However, she found herself short on funds for the prom ticket and wishes for help with this purchase. This is such a big event for Imani, and attending will give her a sense of normalcy. She is excited to be able to celebrate her accomplishments.
