Community Initiatives/Seen52AD is at one of the top public universities in the world with an eye towards media or film studies. Despite a solid first year, the second year has been incredibly stressful, with challenges around mental health, bio and foster families, academics, and belonging within a large campus. Prior to college, he attended over 15 schools and navigated on his own to ensure his future. However, it has been quite overwhelming and we are continuing to support him during this slightly prolonged transition. Hobbies that bring him joy are listening to music of all genres, styling people, playing basketball, and skateboarding.
Skating is AD's preferred form of mental health and exercise. He has enjoyed skating ever since he was a kid, but he did not start seriously skating until high school, when he saved up to purchase his own and made a deal with his foster mom to wear a helmet. He has had two boards since high school, and at the end of his second year of college, his last skateboard broke from overuse. He is requesting a new full board to continue this form of self-care.
