Ruthie has lived in foster care since she was a small child and has moved several times during her life. Now that Ruthie lives in a more independent placement, she's looking to take advantage of living in the Greater Boston area by doing, learning, and seeing as much as she can. Her passions include visiting with her baby niece, teaching herself to play the piano, and one day getting a job in animal welfare.

Ruthie is a devoted sister and a proud aunt to her four-year-old niece. For years, the distance between her foster placement and her family made it difficult to stay connected. However, now that she lives in a semi-independent program closer to her loved ones, Ruthie is determined to make up for lost time. Her family serves as her anchor—a constant source of love, motivation, and meaning. More than anything, Ruthie wants to be a steady and caring presence in her niece’s life as she grows up. With this support, Ruthie can visit her family and strengthen their bonds. Since it takes quite awhile to get to and from her sister's house, this wish has been split up to help with the cost.
