A pair of sunglasses to help with migraines
Jakob, 19 years old, CA
Wish submitted by:
CSULB - Guardian Scholars ProgramJakob is set to graduate with a degree. Driven by a deep commitment to justice and social advocacy, he plans to enter law school immediately after graduation, aiming to earn his law degree before turning 20. With a clear vision for his future, Jakob intends to pursue a career as either a criminal defense attorney or a family lawyer, where he will dedicate his practice to advocating for foster youth—a cause that resonates deeply with him both personally and professionally. Long-term, Jakob aspires to establish his own law firm, creating opportunities for other former foster youth to become legal professionals and empowering them to make meaningful change within their communities.
Jakob struggles with migraines that may be triggered by sunlight. The sunlight affects him to the point where he cannot read or move his head, making it a disabling condition and one of the biggest challenges he faces. So far, conventional glasses have not worked for him because they fit too tightly. What he needs more than anything is a pair of glasses made specifically in XL size, that have the right polarization to help prevent his debilitating migraines.

"Thank you so much for the sunglasses! That was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. I’m really looking forward to trying them out. I plan on using them often especially when I’m out and about or working under bright lights. I can't wait to use them at law school next month. Hopefully, they’ll help ease some of the headache symptoms. I truly appreciate your support!"
