Makayla is a fun-loving teenage girl who enjoys playing video games and is a huge Star Wars fan. She loves biking and spends a lot of time with her many friends. In addition to playing the guitar and singing, she is always looking for new activities to engage in. One of her favorite pastimes is visiting her grandfather's house to help him with cleaning and caring for his cats. Being the oldest of nine children—since her older siblings have moved out for college or marriage—she plays a significant role in supporting her family. Makayla is a great help around the house and enjoys cooking, cleaning, and babysitting. Her goal is to become a stay-at-home mom one day, with a side business in babysitting.

Makayla has finally discovered a book series that she absolutely loves! The main character, Michael Vey, is a boy with electric powers. Makayla is completely enchanted by the series and wants to achieve her goal of reading the entire set. She has already finished the first book and now needs to read the second one!
