Roberta has experienced time in foster care and has developed into an emotionally intelligent and resourceful individual. She dreams of eventually moving to Virginia and starting her own business, which would involve raising and selling chickens, ducks, eggs, and poultry.

Roberta is currently pursuing vocational training at a Youth Opportunity Center and will soon start a paid internship. She has worked diligently by attending community college during the school year and enrolling in vocational training over the summer to gain skills in retail sales and related duties. As she is growing, her old clothes no longer fit well. To prepare for her internship, she has requested a gift card to JCPenney to purchase essential professional attire. Roberta is hardworking and independent; while she typically saves carefully, she needs this assistance to ensure she is ready for her new role. She believes that gaining experience in retail will help her secure future employment, allowing her to earn her own money and become more self-reliant.
