Jeremiah's mother has a history of substance abuse and instability. As a result, Jeremiah and his sibling were removed from her care, and their uncle became their legal guardian. However, the uncle eventually relinquished his guardianship because he and Jeremiah were unable to get along, leading to Jeremiah being kicked out of the home. Jeremiah is in extended foster care and is placed with a relative.

Jeremiah recently graduated from high school, and his primary mode of transportation is his bike. He uses it for job searching and engaging in enrichment activities. He's hoping to get a steady new job soon, but, unfortunately, his current bike is in poor condition, with loose handlebars and a loose middle bar, which will soon require repairs. Jeremiah would be thrilled to receive an electric bike as he embarks on his journey toward independence and new adventures.
