Cai was placed in a foster home, separate from his two older siblings. He found it challenging to adjust to foster care and often expressed how much he misses his family. Cai is a very energetic, smart, funny, and loving young boy who enjoys playing outside and watching SpongeBob. He loves going to school and learning about numbers and how to write his name! His dream is to someday work at the Krusty Krab.

Cai will be starting a new school this fall. For a child in foster care, beginning a new school year with a brand-new pair of shoes is a significant moment. It's not just about style, although looking good certainly helps; it's about entering the classroom with confidence and a sense of belonging. These new shoes represent a fresh start, a clean slate, and the feeling of being part of a community, just like everyone else. Cai chose these shoes himself because he wants to feel cool as he embarks on his first year of school.
