A final tea party for Gemma who only has a few months to live
Gemma, 3 years old, CA |
NEEDED BY 07/31
Wish submitted by:
Voices for Children - San DiegoGemma was removed from the care of her parents when she was almost a year old due to physical abuse. At age 2, Gemma was diagnosed with cancer, Neuroblastoma, which she fought bravely over many months until she was in remission. Unfortunately, in July 2025, Gemma's cancer returned, and she has been given a terminal diagnosis, with two to three months to live. She loves princesses, Frozen, and tea parties.
Although it is a difficult concept for a three-year-old, Gemma does understand that she does not have much longer to live. Despite her pain and uncertainty, she remains positive, upbeat, and optimistic. Gemma's energy while in the hospital has decreased, but she still enjoys watching movies and giving hugs to all of her extensive medical team. She is happy and safe, but no longer has access to toys or comfort items. She frequently asks for Frozen dolls, tiaras, and toys to engage in her favorite activity, tea parties. We hope to host one final tea party for Gemma as she enters her final months, and to fulfill this wish by treating her like the brave and courageous princess she is.

A note has been added to Gemma's wish!
"Thank you for allowing Gemma to experience so much joy and happiness in her final months. The smile she had when she found out that her wish was granted was the most beautiful thing I have seen, ever. When she was told she would get to have her tea party, she said "I have friends I have never even met!" On behalf of Gemma, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity."
