Cynthia is a resilient youth who has overcome many obstacles throughout her life. She entered the foster care system at the age of eight and did not have a stable placement until she was placed in her cousin's care, years later. Cynthia enjoys school and earns good grades in all her classes. Her long-term goal is to become an entrepreneur. In her free time, she loves playing basketball.

Cynthia has loved basketball since the 4th grade. Although she hasn't played on an official team, she has always had fun playing with friends. One of her dreams has been to have a stable home so she could join her school's basketball team. Now that she's been living with her cousin for a year, she's ready to try out for the team in her senior year. To get ready, she wants to buy a basketball to practice with before tryouts.
