After her parents struggled with stable housing, she entered foster care, separating her from her four younger siblings, though she keeps in touch with them. Currently, she lives with a supportive foster mother who provides her with a safe and nurturing environment. Despite being grateful for her foster mom's care, Selena misses her family but understands it’s for the best right now. Selena is not only academically ambitious but also highly creative, using her artistic talents to express herself. She is passionate about video games, showcasing impressive knowledge of strategy and gameplay. With the right support, Selena remains optimistic about turning her dreams into reality.

Selena is an inspiring young lady who is preparing to begin community college this fall. She’s super excited and is working hard to set herself up for success. One thing that would make a huge difference for Selena right now is having her own laptop. Currently, Selena doesn’t have access to a personal computer. Having a laptop would give her the flexibility to complete assignments and study wherever she feels most comfortable, whether that’s at home, in a coffee shop, or at the library. It would also allow her to stay organized and keep up with her coursework as she navigates college life. Providing Selena with a laptop would relieve some of the financial burden from her foster family and give her one less thing to worry about as she takes this big step toward independence.
