An iPad for Asher to create an art portfolio
Asher, 21 years old, IN
Wish submitted by:
Strength Based Community Change (SBCC)Asher entered kinship care under their aunt but eventually returned to the system, feeling out of place, especially as a gay, gender non-conforming person. Their experiences in various group homes were mixed; the first was easygoing but had a constantly changing staff, making it hard for Asher to connect. Tragically, they witnessed a death at the Wayfinder group home in Los Angeles before moving to Haynes in La Verne, where Asher faced significant homophobia. Despite this, they found the experience helpful in learning to embrace their identity through therapy and self-reflection. Asher's strengths include creativity and resilience. They are an artist who values expressing themselves through various mediums, which has been a crucial part of their journey.
Asher has been eyeing an iPad for quite some time now. As an artist, they believe that iPads are fantastic tools for sketching on the go, offering convenience and versatility. The portable nature of the device allows them to capture inspiration whenever and wherever it strikes. Additionally, the iPad provides a platform for creating detailed artwork, which is essential for Asher's artistic expression. Beyond just creating art, it would serve as an amazing way to store their art portfolio. This is particularly important when Asher is handling art commissions and freelance projects. Ultimately, the iPad would significantly enhance their workflow and artistic capabilities.
