Kate is a transgender youth navigating her journey towards self-acceptance and socialization. While she often finds large groups overwhelming, she really shines in one-on-one situations, where her vibrant personality comes alive. She has a passion for music and a love for cats, cherishing connections with those who share her interests. Despite her aversion to spending too much time in public, everyone who has worked closely with her agrees that she has matured into a responsible and independent young adult. Since aging out of foster care, Kate continues to strive for her best in every situation she encounters.

Kate is settling into her new apartment through a supportive housing program. She wants to make the space her own, and a brightly colored rug for her bedroom would help achieve that! However, since she doesn't have a job yet, she can't afford to buy anything that the program hasn't already covered. Having experienced a great deal of neglect in her life, Kate hopes she can feel comfortable and at home in her new surroundings.
