Benjamin’s experience in foster care has been largely positive, and he is grateful for the support he’s received. After facing a domestic issue at home, he lived with his aunt for a year, during which he made meaningful progress and created lasting memories. He then moved into an independent living program where he learned to manage his life and make adult decisions with more confidence. In his free time, Benjamin enjoys a variety of hobbies, including reading, writing, poetry, building model kits, playing video games, coding, studying philosophy, and playing card games.

Benjamin comes from a lower socioeconomic background, which has often made it challenging for him to access certain luxuries that others may take for granted. He has never been able to afford the latest gaming consoles and currently owns a used PS4 Slim that he purchased for $80. Unfortunately, the console has several issues, including a broken disc drive, a damaged power button, and spray paint inside the interior. Due to these issues, Benjamin is requesting a PS5 as a form of self-care. Gaming has been a meaningful outlet for him, providing both relaxation and mental engagement. Access to a fully functional console would greatly enhance his ability to unwind and support his overall well-being.
