Kay is a sweet girl who has been a victim of domestic violence. She and her mother had to relocate to escape her abusive father. Despite her young age, Kay is wise beyond her years due to having to be a support system for her mother. She also suffers from anxiety and PTSD. Despite her present situation, Kay is extremely resilient, and given time, she will heal. She just needs the opportunity to be a little girl.

Kay is starting school next month and is very excited about entering the first grade! Every day, she talks about meeting her new teacher and hopes some of her friends from last year will be in her new class. Kay has also mentioned that she needs a new backpack. It would make her very happy to have a Bluey backpack for the new school year.
