Katie is a fun, intelligent, and kind woman with autism. She faced significant loss at a young age, when she lost her brother. When she was in her teens, she lost both of her parents suddenly within six months of each other. With the passing of three family members, Katie is left with only one older sister and brother. With the support of her family, Katie moved into a non-profit organization home where she enjoys participating in activities such as trips to horse ranches and frequent bowling outings. Katie loves riding horses, spending time on puzzles, and going out to eat. Despite being told at a young age that she would never speak, she has amazed her family and friends by becoming a social butterfly!

Katie has spent years watching videotapes and sharing her love for Winnie the Pooh. Her biggest wish is to visit Disney World and meet Winnie the Pooh in person. For Katie, who has navigated a hectic life, this experience would mean the world to her and bring a much-needed dose of joy and brightness to her days.
