Harlem has a strong spirit and intense emotions. He has faced many challenges and struggles to understand why life is so complicated for him. Harlem lives in his great-aunt's house with his siblings. He is a devoted protector of his younger sisters and is extremely loyal to them. When he grows up, he dreams of becoming either a street sweeper or a race car driver.

Harlem experienced a lot of loss, including the violent deaths of his mother and sister. He is fiercely loyal to his siblings and other extended family, and he has found ways to feel safe and secure at home. He will be at a new school this year, which makes him a little nervous. He has to wear a uniform with special pants, shirts, and shoes, and he is excited to go shopping for them before school starts in a few weeks. This request has been split into two wishes to allow for a successful shopping trip. This is wish 1 of 2.
