A tablet for Ruby to watch her shows while waiting for medical treatment

Ruby, 2 years old, CO

Ruby is an amazing little girl who has a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). She struggles with movement and spends a lot of time being held or lying on her back. Ruby thrives in the company of others. Due to her low muscle tone, she finds it challenging to engage with typical age-appropriate toys. Her bright brown eyes and little pigtails bring her a lot of joy. She smiles when people talk to her, and she loves having her toes tickled as well as listening to the "Sunshine Song!"

Ruby is a delightful 2-year-old who faces complex medical challenges. Her joyful smile can brighten anyone's day, but she often finds herself in waiting rooms for doctor appointments and traveling with her caregiver, long distances for specialized care. With a traumatic brain injury, her medical journey is forever, continuing as she grows. To help make these waiting periods a little easier, her caregivers believe Ruby would greatly benefit from having a tablet. She loves watching Nemo and other shows, and being able to enjoy her favorite characters while waiting for procedures would soothe her nerves and provide comfort during difficult times. A tablet would not only entertain her but also help create a sense of normalcy in her routine.
