Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach CountyMary is a young mother who came to this country and entered foster care at the age of 16. Her son still lives in her native country, and she misses him dearly. They regularly FaceTime, allowing her to stay connected with him. Currently, she is part of the extended foster care program and is actively learning the English language. Mary remains hopeful that she will reunite with her son one day, and she aspires to become a surgeon in the future.
Mary is 18 years old, which means she doesn’t qualify for the back-to-school clothing voucher. Even though she’s still in high school, she really needs some new clothes that fit well and make her feel good about herself. Having the right clothes could really boost her confidence and help her connect with new friends at school. This request is split into two parts. This is wish 1 of 2.

"Dear Wish Granter, This gift was such a huge help for Mary. Because she is over 18, she no longer receives the back-to-school funds for clothing, even though she is still in high school. Being given the chance to order some new clothes and wear something different to school than she had last year has been such a meaningful reward for her. She absolutely loves what she picked out; some really cute school clothes that have truly helped boost her confidence. It’s made a difference not just in how she looks, but in how she feels walking into school each day. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. It has meant the world to her."
