Throughout his time in foster care, Joel worked hard to create a better future for himself and stayed away from bad influences. Looking back on his experiences in different homes, he wants to make sure others don't go through the same negative situations he did. Even though he faced challenges in school, he believes that gaining knowledge is important and stays hopeful about his future. What helped him was remembering to stay focused, avoid negativity, and trust that his journey is just beginning, with happier times ahead.

Joel has recently started working as an apprentice electrician. He hopes to soon become a licensed electrician, with the means to create a comfortable future for himself. To do this, he is trying to gather some necessary tools and supplies. As part of this, Joel is hoping for a pack of t-shirts he can wear on the job.
