An alarm clock for Juliana to wake her up for school on time

Juliana, 16 years old, OR

The Lost & Found Institute

Juliana was eight when her life changed dramatically after her parents were deported, placing her in foster care. She moved from home to home in multiple placements, feeling increasingly lost and disconnected from her culture. The unfamiliar food and absent traditions left her feeling lonely and out of place. After years of searching for a sense of belonging, Juliana is finally with a foster family that understands and embraces her. They make an effort to connect with her background by preparing familiar meals and celebrating her traditions. For the first time, Juliana feels safe and accepted, shedding the weight of isolation for a sense of comfort and belonging.

Juliana would like an Alexa speaker and alarm clock to help her wake up on time for school. She's working on becoming more independent with her morning routine, and having an Alexa device would make it easier for her to set alarms, check the time, and even get reminders to stay on schedule. She likes the idea of using her voice to control it and play music while she gets ready in the morning. The built-in alarm clock would help her start each day on time and feel more prepared for school. It would make a big difference in helping her take responsibility and build good habits for the school year ahead.
