They and their siblings were taken away from their biological parents due to neglect, witnessing domestic violence, and experiencing physical and emotional abuse. August lacks confidence and is fearful of becoming independent. They struggle with basic life skills and lack many experiences, such as going to amusement parks, the mall, or just being a teen.

August has a passion for gaming, but he has never had his own game console. He has always had to share with his sibling. Because of this, August usually has to play games on his cell phone instead. He dreams of owning a Nintendo Switch Lite so that he can have access to gaming whenever he likes. It will bring him a little joy!
