Carmillo grew up in a kinship placement with his great-aunt after years of instability in various foster care placements. Music became his powerful outlet for expression, allowing him to sing, write, and dance as a way to make sense of the world. Whether jotting down lyrics or dancing in his room, music gives him a sense of freedom and joy. Despite his challenges, Carmillo continues to find strength and beauty through his art.
