Maleiah lives with her grandmother, uncle, and two brothers. Although she is somewhat shy, Maleiah has a close-knit group of friends who support one another. She loves going to the beach and has learned to wrestle competitively. Maleiah dreams of attending college in Arizona because of its excellent wrestling team. However, she struggles with self-esteem and confidence issues due to being a bigger girl.

Maleiah was struggling in school due to problems at home, but with support, she decided to improve her grades so she could attend any college she wanted. In just under two months, she worked incredibly hard and almost made the honor roll. Despite her achievements, Maleiah still battles with self-confidence and self-love. Her family believes that recognizing her hard work with a special gift would be a meaningful way to reward her efforts.
