Terrence entered the foster care system as a teenager and faced many challenges when he turned 18 and moved into Extended Foster Care. It took him years to manage his mental health issues, but through resilience, he built a strong support system. He is focused on college, majoring in social work to help children who have gone through similar experiences. Terrence wants to be a voice of support and advocacy for those in need. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with friends, dining out, and exploring his town. He is working to create a life of connection and purpose. With hope for the future, Terrence is determined to make a difference.

Terrence recently moved to San Diego County, and in the process, he lost his EBT benefits. He has been working hard to gather all the necessary documents to reinstate them, but obstacles have delayed the process. In the meantime, Terrence has been applying for jobs close to home, but with no prior work experience, it has been difficult to get interview calls. His case manager has referred him to a job program that will help him gain experience through an internship, but until then, he has limited resources. Terrence hasn’t been able to go grocery shopping since June 2025 and has been relying on food pantries to get by. A Vons gift card would give him the opportunity to purchase groceries of his own, ensuring he has access to fresh, nutritious food while he waits for his benefits to be reinstated.
