An electric bike for Jamme who can't drive due to seizures
Jamme, 20 years old, PA
Wish submitted by:
Kutztown University of PennsylvaniaJamme is one of eight children and has experienced foster care, moving between at least ten different foster homes and just as many schools. When she turned 18, she was adopted but was soon asked to leave her adoptive home. Recently, Jamme learned that she has Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a medical condition that causes frequent seizures and episodes of fainting. Despite these challenges, Jamme is a resilient young woman who is determined to thrive independently in college. Her interests include listening to all genres of music, engaging in arts and crafts, working out, and participating in various outdoor activities.
Jamme is seeking assistance with purchasing an electric bike, which she hopes to rely on as her primary mode of transportation, given that she cannot drive due to seizures. The inability to obtain a driver's license has made it challenging for her to travel independently for school, work, and medical appointments. Having grown up in foster care, Jamme hasn’t always had a reliable support system for transportation, highlighting the importance of dependable options in her life. Receiving this would make this crucial purchase a reality. With access to an electric bike, Jamme would gain greater independence, enjoy safe and reliable transportation, and be better equipped to manage her education, health, and daily responsibilities.
