Jaylen lives with her maternal grandmother in Florida. She was removed from her parents when she was a toddler due to neglect. Since then, she has been raised by her grandparents. Jaylen had some struggles with behavior, but she has turned around both her behavior and academics. She loves her pet dog, listening to music, and playing volleyball.

Jaylen longs for a box spring for her bed to enhance her comfort and improve her sleep quality. For several months, she's been sleeping on a mattress on the floor because her grandmother, who has been her steadfast support, simply can't afford one. Despite this challenge, Jaylen has made great strides in her academics and continues to excel in the sports she loves.
