Cody is a motivated young man ready to start college. As a former foster youth, he has faced many challenges but remains focused on building a better future for himself and others. He will major in Psychology with the goal of becoming a mental health counselor for youth who have experienced trauma. Cody wants to be the supportive figure he lacked growing up, listening and helping others heal. He is known for his compassion, dependability, and self-awareness. Outside of school, he enjoys writing poetry, playing basketball, and hiking, finding peace in nature. Cody is determined to turn his struggles into purpose and make the most of his college journey.

As a former foster youth, Cody is entering this new chapter with limited financial resources and no family support to help him cover the numerous expenses associated with starting school. From textbooks and school supplies to dorm room essentials and basic living items, there’s a long list of things he needs to be fully prepared.
