Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, IncGracie witnessed domestic violence between her mother and her mother's boyfriend, who was arrested in front of her. She also observed drug use in the home. Her father was arrested for drug-related activities when she was just two years old. The house was often dirty and poorly maintained. When Gracie was four, she was removed from her home and placed with her grandparents. She spent a year in their care while her mother worked on her addiction and attended parenting classes. After that time, Gracie was returned to her mother but was abandoned again, leading her to live with her paternal grandparents. Gracie has a history of depression and self-harm, which she is addressing through counseling. She also struggles with severe abandonment issues that impact her daily life. Despite these challenges, Gracie loves sports, particularly volleyball and softball. Additionally, she has a passion for cosmetology and is considering it as a career option after she finishes high school.
Gracie would like to have a chair for her friends to use when they visit. She wants to ensure they have a comfortable place to sit instead of crowding her bed or sitting on the floor. Keeping her bed area free from friends sitting on it is important to her. After all, her bed is her personal space, and she wants to maintain that.
