Dariel began living with his maternal grandmother shortly after he was born because his parents were unable to care for him. He visits his mother every week and shares a strong bond with her, as well as with his grandmother and aunts. Dariel has been closely monitored by his doctors due to developmental delays and sensory-seeking behaviors. He is currently receiving services through Early Intervention and wears a helmet to prevent injury when he bangs his head. His family is dedicated to ensuring he receives everything he needs, and they enjoy watching him learn to play and communicate with the world around him.

Dariel has special needs that make him very particular about his food choices. Thankfully, Shoprite offers all his favorite items, including his preferred groceries like fruits, snacks, and cereals. He is a sweet young boy, and because he doesn’t speak, choosing his favorite foods allows him to bond meaningfully with his resource parent and cousins.
