Jason is a great kid who has experienced much trauma in his life. In spite of it all, he is trying hard to adjust. He loves his foster family and is attached to them dearly. He has aged out of foster care and learning to live mostly on his own. He is just like any young guy that loves sports, video games, surfing the web, and eating junk food. He really wants to be able to make it on his own, but still requires support and encouragement from his former foster family.

Jason has a keen interest in hurricanes, which is why he wishes to get The Encyclopedia of Hurricanes. He loves to read during his spare time, and he imagines curling up with this book before bed, allowing him to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
