Gas assistance for Terrence who just got his permit
Terrence, 21 years old, CA

San Diego Youth ServicesTerrence entered the foster care system as a teenager and faced many challenges when he turned 18 and moved into Extended Foster Care. It took him years to manage his mental health issues, but through resilience, he built a strong support system. He is focused on college, majoring in social work to help children who have gone through similar experiences. Terrence wants to be a voice of support and advocacy for those in need. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with friends, dining out, and exploring his town. He is working to create a life of connection and purpose. With hope for the future, Terrence is determined to make a difference.
Terrence has so much to celebrate — he just earned his driving permit last week and already has his behind-the-wheel test scheduled for this month! This milestone is a huge accomplishment for him, especially as someone who hasn’t had much biological family support in his life. One of the few relatives who has stayed close—his uncle—was so proud of Terrence’s achievement that he gifted him a car. Now, Terrence is working hard to balance college and independence. He attends community college every day, and being able to drive himself to class would be life-changing. A gas gift card would help him fuel his car and keep moving toward his goals with confidence and pride.
