A set of Beats to listen to his favorite music

Josiah, 17 years old, NE

Wish submitted by:

NE DHHS - Madison County

Josiah has overcome many challenges and struggles to trust others as a result. He was a state ward for several years before being adopted by a relative he referred to as his "grandmother." Unfortunately, he returned to foster care after experiencing abuse from her, along with his younger brother. Josiah has been in foster care for the past three years and has faced difficulties, leading to multiple placements. He likes his foster home and is working on credit recovery to catch up on his school credits in order to graduate with his class in May 2026. Although not every day is easy for him, Josiah is focusing more on his future. He is taking steps to prepare for aging out. His goals include getting a part-time job and obtaining his learner's permit.

Josiah has faced a challenging childhood, but recently he has become more motivated to set and achieve some short-term goals. He is doing well in his alternative education program and finally sees a path to graduating on time with his classmates. Beats headphones will not only provide him with something he thought was unattainable, but they will also help him block out distractions in the classroom as he focuses on his assignments.

"Thank you for making a difference in a young man's life. I look forward to seeing Josiah light up when I give him his Beats later this week. He doesn't get many new items and to have something purchased just for him makes it even more special. Have a Merry Christmas!"
