Mia's foster care journey began at 13 due to neglect and abuse from her mother and brothers. After being sent back home and falling into addiction at 14, she realized the importance of self-reliance and self-love. When she sought help for rehab, her mother chose to give her up to the foster system instead. Now, Mia is an energetic and resilient young woman living in Richmond, known for her quick wit and big heart. She has a passion for motorcycles and is working on getting her motorcycle license while caring for her three cats. Committed to her recovery, Mia juggles a job at FedEx, attends NA meetings, and prioritizes her mental health through therapy. Her ultimate dream is to create a loving home for her future daughter, breaking the cycle of abuse she experienced.

Mia recently landed a job at FedEx, where she works night shifts. To get to her workplace, she has a 3-mile walk that takes about an hour, starting at 2:30 AM. Unfortunately, public transportation does not run during those early morning hours. Mia would love to have an electric scooter to help her commute more quickly. This would not only speed up her journey but also reduce the amount of time she spends outside alone at night.
