A Floor Jack for Alana to revamp her ride

Alana, 20 years old, GA

Alana, who has been in and out of foster care since age 11 due to an abusive home, found stability with a caring foster family. However, after the home became too crowded, she ended up sleeping in her car and staying in motels. She has now joined a transitional living program, putting her pride aside to seek help. A skilled and hard-working young lady, Alana enjoys crafts and educational conversations. To relieve stress, she goes for drives, listens to music, and takes walks. Alana aspires to become a 911 dispatcher and is actively working toward that goal.

Alana has been part of her independent living program for one year and has made tremendous progress, achieving sobriety, enrolling in an auto mechanic program, securing employment, receiving scholarships, and moving into her own apartment. Having overcome significant adversity in a short time, she went from living in her vehicle to purchasing her dream car, fueled by her passion for all things automotive, including car games, LEGO car sets, and collecting Hot Wheels. Recently, after experiencing a flat tire and having to pay someone else to fix it because she lacked proper tools, Alana realized that having a floor jack would greatly assist her with her car's minor needs, such as changing tires and draining old oil.

"Thank you so much! I'm super excited to be able to really work on my car and fix it up at home. This will not only help me through my school program, but also in my personal life to maintain my dream car. I really appreciate it considering one year ago when I signed myself back into foster care I had a car I couldn't afford that I lived in until it broke down. You'll never know what this really means to me. Thank You!"
