Foster Alumni Mentors

Ashley was born to parents who both had mental health disorders and developmental delays. When she was 14 her father was diagnosed with a terminal brain disease and passed away only eight months later. Her mother was unable to care for her and her sister and they ended up in foster care. Living in a group home she graduated from high school and went on to college where she graduated with her degree in Psychology. She has done a lot with her life, including joining the military, getting married, and having beautiful children of her own. She is currently working in hospice to help others through their grief. She received her Master's in Social work in May 2022. and hopes to advocate for children in foster care, as her team advocated for her.

Ashley has always longed to make her own shirts, but she’s never been able to justify the added expense in her family’s budget. A shirt press would be the perfect companion to her wish for a Cricut, giving her the ability to finally bring her creative ideas to life. Being able to make custom shirts—whether for her family, for gifts, or simply as a creative outlet—would bring her so much joy. Receiving this shirt press would be a true blessing for Ashley, especially during the Christmas season, turning a long-held dream into something real and meaningful.
