As an adult, Makenzie dedicates her time to giving back to the foster youth community, advocating for their needs, and building spaces of support and belonging. Outside of her advocacy work, she finds peace and joy in life’s simple moments, spending time outdoors with her husband, hiking, and caring for her beloved dog and cat. Makenzie’s warmth, resilience, and dedication make her a powerful voice for change and a source of light for those around her.

Makenzie is the kind of soul that you don't always meet. Through all of her foster care experiences, she was taught that love and care have an expiration date and that no home was ever 'forever'. Watching her siblings be adopted, but not her, she believed she would never find a home again. Now, she's come to realize that she can build her very own home that never gives up on her. She wants to make her new life the kind of warm place that is inviting, comfortable, and feels like a hug. She would love a warm, beautiful TV stand to help her organize her things - like her TV, games for playing with her family, and more.
