Foster GreatnessKaleah is a student at San Diego City College, driven by her goals of becoming a cosmetologist or social worker. Having grown up in the foster care system, Kaleah experienced over 25 placements and overcame immense challenges, including dropping out of high school. However, her resilience led her back to school in 2019, where she earned her high school diploma in 2022, graduating with a scholarship. Now, Kaleah has transitioned out of homelessness and lives in student housing while pursuing their college education. She works freelance to make ends meet and remains focused on maintaining stability in her housing, academics, and personal relationships. Despite life's difficulties, Kaleah's faith and determination keep her moving forward, embracing the belief that her past does not define her future. She is committed to building a brighter, more stable life and achieving her goals with strength and optimism.
Kaleah has worked extremely hard in her life since leaving foster care. Not only does she strive to excel in college, but she also juggles several jobs to support herself. She is learning to prioritize her health and well-being, although taking care of herself has not always been easy. Kaleah has often struggled with neglecting her personal care routines. However, as she continues to heal from her childhood trauma and her experiences in foster care, she is discovering healthier ways to care for herself. To help track her fitness and health goals in collaboration with her doctor, Kaleah has been using an Apple Watch. Unfortunately, her watch was recently stolen. She would like to replace it with a nice blue Apple Watch to keep her on track and motivated in her health journey.
